Pakistan alleges that the separatist Baloch Liberation Army uses Iranian land to carry out extremist attacks. In this connection, Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Bajwa spoke to Iran Army Chief Major General Mohammad Bakery and said that Pakistan also wants mutual respect and equality in relations with its neighboring countries to ensure that there is no interference.
This is the second case in recent times when the relationship between the two countries has soured over an issue. Recently, Pakistan had alleged that despite its objections, Iran sent five thousand people back to Pakistan during the Corona era. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi blamed them for spreading the corona virus infection in Pakistan.

On Friday, a Frontier Corps patrol was attacked in Balochistan, killing six soldiers. The Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for this attack. The statement issued by the Pakistani Army said that the two army chiefs agreed to tighten security measures along the border. Unlike Pakistan, Iran alleges that the Pakistani extremists use the soil of Pakistan. These allegations and counter-allegations between the two countries have been going on for a long time.
Pakistan has also started fencing the 909 km border with Iran. The government of Pakistan has also allocated an amount of three billion rupees for this.

Counter charges between Pakistan and Iran
In February last year, when Iran’s Revolutionary Guards were attacked, they gave a stern warning to Pakistan. 27 soldiers of Revolutionary Guards were killed in the attack. they alleged that this attack was carried out by extremists in Pakistan. But when Pakistani soldiers were attacked in Baloch in April last year, Pakistan blamed the Baloch separatists in Iran for this.
14 Pakistani soldiers were killed in this attack. After that, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan visited Iran. Prior to Imran Khan’s visit, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry had said in a stringent letter to the Iranian embassy that the attackers had come from Iran. Imran Khan also raised this issue during his visit. The two countries also agreed to stop extremist activities from across the border.
Actually, Pakistan’s Balochistan province is bordering Iran. Baloch is in both countries. Iran’s Sistan and Balochistan provinces are bordering Pakistan, where the Baloch live. There was a time when both countries considered the growing influence of Baloch Nationalists as a threat. Action was also taken on these leaders and the movement in the 70s.
Will the Planet after the second world war no longer exist?
But in the midst of a dispute over several issues with Pakistan, Iran started adopting a soft attitude towards Baloch Nationalist. Baloch organizations present in country also keep a close hand with Sunni Baloch organizations against Iran and on many occasions they have also helped Iran.
Relationship fluctuations between Pakistan and Iran
There has always been ups and downs in the relationship between both countries. When Pakistan was formed in 1947, Iran was among the few countries that recognized Pakistan. In 1948, then Prime Minister of Pakistan Liaquat Ali Khan also visited Iran. The Shah of Iran later visited Pakistan in 1950. The relationship between the two countries was seen going in a good direction.
But relations between Sunni dominated Pakistan and Shia dominated Iran were not always good. But Shia-Sunni tension in Pakistan had an impact on its relationship with Iran. After the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran started taking an aggressive stand on Pakistan. He also opposed Pakistan’s policy of promoting the Taliban in Afghanistan.
After 9/11 attacks in America, Pakistan’s policy is not for Iran. At the same time, Pakistan’s pro-Saudi Arab policy also soured relations. During the reign of General Zia-ul-Haq, Pakistan grew closer with Saudi Arabia and Iran did not like these things with bitter eyes.
India’s foreign policy should be confident.
But between all these, economic relations between the two countries remain intact. Moreover, Iran also showed interest in the economic corridor being built under the leadership of China. For Pakistan too, oil and gas-rich Iran was a better option for trade.
In January this year, Major General Qasim Sulemani, the commander of the Iranian Army, was killed in the action of the US Army. After this, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called Pakistan Army Chief Bajwa. Pakistan tried to reduce tensions between Iran and America.
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan even said in a meeting that Pakistan will not allow its land to be used for attacks against any country. Imran Khan also talked about reconciliation in Saudi Arabia and Iran at that time. However, some people in country were shocked that Pakistan did not strongly condemn Sulaimani’s murder.
Indian Army:How strong is the Indian army under Modi rule?
However, the truth is that if there was a war in Iran and America on the death of Sulaimani, then it would not have been a good situation for Pakistan. Perhaps this is why Pakistan took the initiative for reconciliation and somewhere America also took the support of Pakistan. But on most occasions Pakistan wants to remain neutral in relations between both countries, this is also true. Perhaps the reason is also the internal state of Pakistan.
When India announced the removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, Iran had taken a strong stand. This year, when there were riots in India’s capital Delhi, Iran’s foreign minister tweeted that they opposes the sponsored violence against Muslims in India.Their stand on Kashmir and Delhi riots was a delight for Pakistan.
Between them, Pakistan’s relations with the country have remained sour. While both countries seem to be tied to religion, culture and literature, extreme incidents happening in the border areas have been hindering relationships.
